IT RADIO NETWORK FEATURES INTERVIEWS WITH THE CEO’S OF SOMERA COMMUNICATIONS AND SERENA SOFTWARE

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA – July 18, 2000 -- IT Radio Network, the voice behind eBusiness, is featuring in-depth interviews with the CEOs of two of Business Week’s Top 100 Growth Companies, Dan Firestone of Somera Communications, Inc. (Nasdaq: SMRA) and Mark Woodward of Serena Software, Inc. (Nasdaq: SRNA).

During the interview, the two discussed their respective company’s business models, being on Business Week’s Top 100 list and what lies ahead for their companies and industries in the future.

According to Firestone, Business Week’s rankings were based on three primary criteria. "Number one was the return on capital invested, then sales and profit growth and earnings," said Firestone. "Those three factors have really been at the core of Somera’s vision from the very beginning."

Firestone also discussed the company, its vision and their business model. "Our vision is to provide carriers with innovative solutions that would enable them to build and expand their networks faster and more cost effectively," said Firestone. "We do this by providing carriers with a virtually unlimited range of equipment, fast and knowledgeable service which makes for a very cost effective solution for these carriers."

Woodard discussed the company’s solution and how their product enables their customers to take on large eBusiness initiatives. "As companies are developing applications, or webifying existing applications, what they need to be able to do when undertaking these e-business initiatives is define the process that they want to have used every time," said Woodard. "So what our product allows you to do is to define your perfect process and imbed it in our tool, and our tool will force that process to happen."

Woodard also discussed the company’s client base and the commitment they are making to Serena’s software. "We claim a very large percentage of the Fortune 2000. A typical customer for us is Bank of America (Nasdaq: BAC), Charles Schwab (NYSE: SCH), Citibank (NYSE: C), Kaiser, AT&T (NYSE: T) – very large companies," said Woodard. "If you think about what our software does, our software becomes the infrastructure that they base all of their development processes on. So it’s a very major commitment these companies make to our technology and we become a very important infrastructure supplier to these companies."

These entire interviews are available free online in RealAudio (Nasdaq: RNWK) and text.
