IT RADIO NETWORK IS NOW FEATURING AN INTERVIEW WITH META GROUPS CHRIS BYRNES
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA October 25th, 2000 -- IT Radio Network, "The Voice of eBusiness," is now featuring an in-depth interview with Chris Byrnes from META Group, Inc. (Nasdaq: METG).
During the interview, Byrnes discussed the latest changes in Internet security, the influx of mergers and acquisitions within the Internet security space, wireless security and how to choose the solution thats right for your company.
According to Byrnes, security hasnt changed much over the last couple months, but companies have figured out how to do things just a little bit better. "The reality is the thing thats changed the most is theres been more compromises, more losses," said Byrnes. "Therefore, theres a little bit more attention being paid. As more and more organizations start to pay attention to e-commerce, they start realizing either because theyre smart, or because they get hit, that security is an important thing."
Byrnes also discussed whats wrong with wireless application protocol or WAP technology. "What happened was that the firm that designed WAP got ahead of itself and they sold a bunch of installations before the WAP standard was completed," said Byrnes. "And as a result, a lot of the deployments here are not standards based. And theyre going to take some change. So weve got a ways to go.
